Mayor Mark Stodola issued a proclamation establishing November 12-16 as National Apprenticeship Week throughout the City of Little Rock. The proclamation is one of over 1,000 events and proclamations around the country.
The proclamation highlights the value of apprenticeships in in Little Rock and across Arkansas, including:
- Registered Apprenticeship training provides the state with highly-trained and efficient, skilled workers;
- Arkansas has 104 Registered Apprenticeship programs involving hundreds of employers and approximately 5,000 Registered Apprentices, and they continue to grow;
- Apprenticeship programs strengthen Arkansas ‘s workforce and economy.

National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is a national celebration that offers leaders in business, labor, education, and other critical partners a chance to demonstrate their support for apprenticeship. NAW also gives apprenticeship sponsors the opportunity to showcase their programs, facilities, and apprentices in their community. The week-long event highlights the benefits of apprenticeship in preparing a highly-skilled workforce to meet the talent needs of employers across diverse industries.
