The annual 2025 WIOA Partners Conference, typically attended by partners from the Little Rock Workforce Center, was delayed until spring 2026.
That’s when the Little Rock Workforce Development Board (LRWDB) sprang into action to host a mini conference on November 12-14.
WIOA partners were encouraged to dress in their “Get ‘er done!” WORK Clothes.
Partners heard from motivational speaker Tomekia Moore, Executive Director of the Arkansas Community Action Agencies Association, who spoke about “helping people. changing lives.” They also participated in education and strategy sessions focused on: Big Picture: Mission, Strategy, Partnership; Customer Testimonials; and Lessons Learned.
The mini-conference also included fun activities that promoted camaraderie, like a social hour with music, punch and hors d’oeuvres and a karaoke event at the local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) facility.
Perhaps most importantly, the mini-conference featured team activities called We Build the Clothes Closet and Bring Your Old Clothes to Work Day to stock and replenish clothes closet inventory and prepare for future donations.
The mini-conference gave WIOA partners a chance to refresh, recharge, and return to the work of fostering workforce and economic development across Little Rock.
