November has been declared National Native American Heritage Month since 1990.
The Little Rock Workforce Development Board (LRWDB) encourages employers to celebrate Native American Heritage in the workplace.
Employers can get started by encouraging employees to learn more about Native American tribes, the unique challenges faced by indigenous peoples, and success stories that illustrate their resilience.
Employers might also consider offering a Career Summit to introduce Native American job seekers to career options within a specific industry or offering free or low-cost skill building workshops, financial literacy sessions, or wellness programs to local Native American communities.
Supporting an Employee Resource Group (ERG), created by and for indigenous employees, can also be a vehicle for creating a more diverse, inclusive workplace at your organization.
