On April 5, 2025 President Trump approved Emergency Declarations for Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee for Severe Storms, Tornadoes and Flooding that started on April 2, 2025.
The Little Rock Workforce Development Board (LRWDB) was informed by Arkansas Workforce Connections (AWC) that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is in Arkansas assessing the situation for declaring a major disaster. That would allow the LRWDB to apply for a National Dislocated Worker Grant (NDWG).
FEMA recently denied Arkansas this Major Disaster Declaration – Individual and Public Assistance for the tornadoes of March 14, 2025. Governor Sanders appealed.
